Big Dog Alpha / Hustler Raptor Deck Chute Discharge Correct method for modifying and upgrading.
Notice the scallop in the top right of the deck. If you remove the enforcement bar at the bottom of the deck, a leg could enter that large opening deep enough to be cut off. We do offer a solution to provide a modicum of safety as well as to help keep the grass clippings from being blown back into the operator in the even the discharge chute is up while cutting.

The MaxsGarajMahal Grass Catcher Scallop Block Off Plate will help keep a leg from going into the scallop as deeply as it may without the block off plate.

Our block off plate is manufactured from HDPE plastic in red for the Big Dog Alpha and yellow for the Hustler Raptor. This is the same material used in race car fabrication of noses, skirting and tail pieces across the nation. It is extremely rip and tear resistant without a memory meaning if you run it into an object, it most likely will pop back out rather than bend and stay bent like metal.

Email MaxsGarajMahal@gmail.com for information and ordering. $24.95 shipped within the US.

We do NOT recommend you alter your Hustler Raptor or Big Dog Alpha decks in any manner. Any alterations / modifications are the responsibility of those making the modifications and you assume all liabilities.

HDPE is known for its large strength to density ratio.[3] The density of HDPE can range from 930 to 970 kg/m3.[4] Although the density of HDPE is only marginally higher than that of low-density polyethylene[5], HDPE has little branching, giving it stronger intermolecular forces and tensile strength than LDPE. The difference in strength exceeds the difference in density, giving HDPE a higher specific strength.[6] It is also harder and more opaque and can withstand somewhat higher temperatures (120 °C/ 248 °F for short periods).

Enforcement bar cut down to less than half of its original height in order to bring the top of the bar 1/8" below the top of the cutting blade. The blade top located above the bar top allows for 99% of the clippings never touching the enforcement bar. The remainder of the enforcement bar helps keep a foot or leg from getting into the rotating cutting blades. Do not remove the bar entirely.

This discharge cut back will work well, however, if the bar was cut down from the top to 7/16" altitude,  opening it back as far as it
